Dude, how did u make up such a query ? There is nothing as CD+R.

Its only CD-R which means a device that slots into or attaches externally to a computer. It is a CD-ROM drive that allows the creation or "burning" of Compact Discs. It also plays traditional audio CDs and will read data CDs.

CD-R simply means compact disc - recordable.
you can burn that disc with softwares/songs etc.

there's no CD+R concept.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CD+R & CD - R !!!!!!!
cd-r means CD recordable!!!

THERE IS DVD+Rw & DVD-Rw wich is also written like this DVD+RW/-RW !!!!

WHICH MEANS IT CAN BURN BOTH SINGLE LAYERED DVD's AS WELL AS DOUBLE Layered DVD's re-recordables & remove the "W" AND it becomeS RECORDABLES !!!!

CHEERS !!!! :!:

rosalol(rotating on same axis....) man, there is nothing such as a CD+R. There exists only CD-R on which you can record only one time(if you don't use multiple sessions)

Let me try. Others have already pointed out that the R stands for 'recordable'. The - sign in CD-R does not stand for 'minus', it's a hyphen. Therefore there is no corresponding + type of CD.

Some people or manufacturer may have used the + sign for reasons of their own (such as a marketing ploy), but it's not a standard term for any particular type of CD. It could also simply be a typographical error.

May I know who are they who market CD-R as CD+R?? They can not change the technical name and have to mention somewhere in the package that its a CD-R capable of being written at such and such speed.

I don't know of any manufacturer that actually uses the term CD+R. What I said was that some mfr "may" have used it, meaning that Akhil might have seen it written as CD+R by some manufacturer as a marketing gimmick. I also said that it could simply be a typo.
