Hey friends,
I'm planning to purchase a quad band phone that will work in the US.
Can someone plz suggest me a cheap and reliable quad band phone.
I don't want anything fancy.Just basic calling and text messaging.

The problem is that I'm unaware of the latest prices...
I want something that is as cheap as possible but yet reliable..
A basic quad band phone (something that is equivalent to Nokia 1650 out here)

see most basic fones are made so that they are as affordable as possible ... so its unlikely u'll find quadband on any low end nokia ... u can try the lower end motorola series if price isnt a problem

I think the original RAZR is quad-band and is pretty darn cheap these days.

If you're heading to the US, don't skip on the fourth band since it just won't work in a lot of cities served by the erstwhile Cingular (now AT&T Wireless) that uses the 850 band. Although TMobile exclusively uses the 1900 band, coverage is a bit spotty in the southeast, NYC and other areas where AT&T has more towers.

P.S.: Why do you want a buy phone from out here? Get one on a contract from the U.S. or better yet, get an unlocked phone from chinatowns.
