I have following system config:

proccy: 955 BE

Mobo:ASUS M4A78T-E(790GX, SB750)

RAM: Corsair 4gb ddr3 1333Mhz

HDD: 1 TB SEAGATE( WILL ADD ANOTHER 1 OR 2 TB INTERNAL AND 1 TB EXTERNAL)

ODD: LG

Monitor: DELL 23" @ 2500 RESOLUTION.

Speaker: creative M2600.

Fan : coolermaster 1 rear(2000 rpm led), 1 side(1200 rpm non led)

UPS APC 650

No graphics card required, not in future also. But i may change the mobo(890gx & SB850) and proccy(1090T).

Now i need a PSU. After Googling i have come down to

1)corsair 450 vx
2)corsair 550 vx
3)Seasonic S12II 520 w 80+

As there was a discussion regarding the build quality of CORSAIR here in TDF i personally want to have the seasonic product.will buy online. so pls suggest.

if you can get VX 450, then get one
even its more than what you actually required, there is no harm in getting a good one

All the 3 SMPSes are good. Get one which suits your budget. I guess Seasonic would be cheaper.

Get the Corsair VX550 or GS600 both are good. Seasonic is also good if available.

No doubt Seasonic is the Father of Corsair for those Two corsair products i mention

^^ some times the warranty provided also matters. So carefully select your PSU.

Which Corsair is better with 5yr warranty.

But Seasonic hardly fails in performance and warranty is just a company policy for it. Even if it does not give any warranty it is not going to bother me(personal opinion)So is the service issue.

Moreover Corsair has adopted a cost cutting method and lowered the build quality of their products to some extent.(source TDF *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/pc-compon...ir-new-vx-tx-series-build-quality-issues.html)

Nothing to get concerned about. A good SMPS is a good SMPS at the end of the day. You can even see the JohnnyGuru review of CX430 (scored 9 out of 10 on every parameter) which is generally consider a not-so-good PSU.

Availability of Seasonic is the biggest issue.

In another forum i have just read that the ADDA fan attached to CORSAIR Vx 450 or VX 550 is making clicking/rattling/chattering noise.

anyone having this kind of issue pls share.

It is available online in ITWARES, IT DEPOT, EBAY.Techshop.

Ask them about stock first. SMC also listed it on their website but it is not available anymore.

confused regarding Seasonic Model No.
in their Site it is written

S12II-520Bronze(SS-520GB Active PFC)

what is SS-500ET Active PFC & SS-500ES Active PFC then?
