Proxy server dilemma...

We(me and my friend) connect to the Internet using the hostel's wifi and have proxy server in between...from 3-4 days my friend's laptop is not connecting to the Wifi that is enabled in the whole campus and gives an error saying "Proxy Server is refusing connections" and the dialog box to type the username and password to connect to the proxy server doesn't come whereas my laptop has none of these problems and connect to the internet. We have the same proxy settings in the firefox and other apps but I can connect and he can't.

Therefore what could be the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated...

What proxy server ur using ... Gimme the details ........

Hi,
Try giving ur user id and password in ur friends system. may be his id is banned in proxy.
