Problems in volume of system speaker

I've XPHome with SP2 having 2.1 on board sound system. Normally I use Winamp to listen music which was alright so far, but now I find that whenever I try to lower the volume of the sound, the 'Wave' vol. gets lowered automatically and I've to set it right always on opening the Volume Control box. Would any of you help me to fix the problem

Yeah its right. Sometimes some music/vid players directly changes the windows volume level on adjusting the vol on player nd leaves the vol level as it was on closins the player.
U just dun bother bout it. It would be ok on closing the player.
It can also be seen on Power DVD nd some others also.

u can check the setting whetther to increasde the volume simultaneously or not..I dont remember how?but if I'll find i'll surely tell u.

All u have to do is this:

1.Start Winamp
2.Press Ctr+P , preferences window will come up.
3.Navigate to Plugins>Output
4.N instead of wave output , select DirectSound output.

This shud solve the problem.
