I have a HP laptop and it comes with HP wireless assistant software. The software allows to control wifi and bluetooth using the f12 key. the f12 key has a built in LED indicator which glows white and red to notify on and off.
The problem is that sometimes the wireless assistant is unable to discover and control bluetooth after startup. The bluetooth is on and I am able to transfer files but it does not appear in the wireless manager software.
By hit and trial I have figured out this to be a problem with virtual c++ redistributable packages. Whenever I install a program or windows update which uses these packages the problem occurs. I have to reinstall the 2008 and 2010 versions and on next startup everything works fine.
Is there a permanent way to solve this?
