Problem with freeagent goflex 320gb

yesterday i was transferring data from my friends laptop into my external freeagent go flex. His sytem hung so I had to unplug it without safe removal.After that it has stopped connecting (does not detect at all and the ledon the hdd is very slow to light up) and makes a beeping sound which can only be heard if you place the hdd really close to your ear. I read on some forum that the data cable may have gone kaput. Anyone have a problem like this before .

Any error or popup when the cable is plugged? One of my friends HDD got corrupted like this when connecting to a PC. Not that I am trying to scare you

Try Different usb cable on different ports then on different system.Check if it works.
