Hi.. thought i'd post my experience so far with the GeCube ATI HD 4850 GPU..
Purchased on : 27/07/08
Price : 12000 Rs. via Ganith Infosystems, Pathanamthitta, Kerala.
I wasn't very sure about ATI's gpu's initially.. I was looking to replace my Nvidia 8600GT, and was considering the 9600 series when i came across this card. After reading a few positive reviews about it, i decided to take my chances.
(Along with the card, i also invested in a 650W SMPS from Corsair. However, the card requires only 550W.)
Performance has been superb so far.. however :
1) While games like Grid and Crysis work flawlessly, even at near max settings, Splinter Cell DA kept crashing.
2) The card was running very hot (80 degrees while idle) until i got the fix that increases the card's fan speed.
Apart from these minor issues, i'm pretty happy with it. So far..
