Pls help upgrading my machine

Dear Digitians,

This is vicky again. I'm stucked with my machine these days, as I think it's outdated. I'm not able to play any new games on it.

Pls help me with what Upgradation needs to be done with my machine so that I can play NFS PROSTREET and CRYSIS smoothly on my machine.

System Configuration :

O.S. : Windows XP SP2
Processor : AMD Athlon XP 1.15 Mhz
Motherboard : Asus A7N8XE
Ram : 1GB
HDD : 250 GB
Graphics : NVidia Geforce FX 5700 LE
Speakers : Creative 5.1


Pls help me with the eligible updation for my machine as i've very tight budget for the upgradation.

Any suggestion will be appreciable.

If ur budget is low, then get AMD, else go for C2D.
If ur budget is ~15k, then i wud suggest u to go for AMD

AMD Athlon X2 4400 : 3.5k
Asus M2A VM: 3.3k
2*1GB DDR2 667: 2k
XFX 860GT: 5.8k

U can keep ur existing HDD nd speakers. Orelse get another 250GB HDD sata2 for 2.6k

8600GT is enuf for avg gamin like crysis @1280*1024 @ med.
