Right off the assembly line
I have Windows XP Professional installed on my pc in drive C: Today suddenly I am unable login to the windows. The computer automatically restarts after reaching the windows logon screen. I tried “safe mode” and “last known good configuration” but unable to login. I tried recovery console but is asks for administrator password which I forgot. But I know the password of other administrative account which I normally use and I have very important documents in this account. Then I installed another copy of Xp in F: drive and logged in. When I try to open the previous account from this fresh xp it says “access is denied”.
I tried Knoppix Live Cd and was able to view these documents as they were not encrypted. Can I copy them to pen drives etc from any Linux Live cd. “. Please help me to recover these files.

I had also faced this problem few months back.Live CD is the perfect solution.Use it to backup your files on pendrive.I used the DSL cd once provided with digit.

Didn't you try it already ?? I don't see a reason why you cannot...... If your Pen drive is supported and you can access your Files.... Then I'm sure that you can copy them.. Go ahead..... Whats stopping you ?
