hi friends

i am using the dialup for 6 months, from past month i am facing a problem,

after connecting to internet, it works fine for 20 to 30 seconds and then the data transfer stops, but the connection remains, and i have to diconnect and connect again, this is the repeating problem.

when i called 121(call center) they tell to do some adjustments in modem, and recreate the dialer, restart the system. it use to work only for few days, and again the same problem repeatedly.

one day an engineer from tata indicom called me and said that it is happening because of spyware or virus, but when i scaned the whole system with spybot search and destroy and avast antivirus i found nothing. even then i formatted and reinstalled my windows xp.

still the same problem, does this happen because of spyware or virus ?

does any one have solution for this,

thankyou

just try to do this as soon as you get connected
see the server ip address in the connection window in taskbar & ping the server
How to ping
Go to run
Type "ping 1xx.xxx.xx.xxx -t" without quotes where 1xx.xxx.xx.xxx will be your server's ip address

Yep. Its happening bcoz of "Dormancy". Its a CDMA phone feature which cause the disconnection if there is no activity, so that u can attend calls. Using PING will help u and use following command for better speed:

Ping -t 203.197.12.30

no friends it didn't help much,
even now also i face the same problem,

after a minute or two i get 'request timed out' thats it no data transfer, again i have to disconnect and dial again.

do you think it is happening because of spyware or virus, as said by tata indicom engineer.

even now to post this i am dialing third time.

Don't believe those mad ppl. What they say may hardly come true for 5 out of 10 ppl. I also had this problem. I guess ur CDMA phone is AXW-P800 or AXW-P830. This happens with AXW-***. Tell them to replace the phone. :)

"Request Timed Out" is not a problem in ur phone. It means u r getting very poor net speed.
I had AXW-P800. It worked 4 arnd 3 mths then i had the same prob. Then it crashed (dunno wat happened). They replaced it with another AXW-P800 then it worked fine. :)
