^^Availability in Asia may not always be equal to availability in India. There are N number of thing available in Japan (which is in Asia) which are not available in India (again an Asian country). Even if it does come to rest of Asia and India the same day, that is still going to be in 2008 not in a few months as you said in reply 35.

Naturally I do have some idea of what I am saying. I hope that I am correct in thinking that iPhone will run a stripped down or as Pathiks said Optimised for mobile phone should be the first point of interaction for a user, if it fails to prevent the cracking of sim lock, well the lesser said the better.

I am not saying if iPhone is good or bad, I am just saying that as long as and even after it does come to India, will be be very popular among the common Indian. indians are just getting used to Symbian bro, it will be hard to make a switch so soon and moreover, how many of the Indian Janta would be even aware of something as iPhone when they do not even know wat an iMac is:)

Talking about this forum, I see that more people still prefer stand alone Media Players and Se/Nokia phones (purely my observation)

2008 is a "few months" away. :)

I still fail to see how it would reflect on the security of the Mac OS.

I thought so too. Seriously. I was actually very pleased that people won't know much about it since it an Apple product and I would be very unique when I finally own it. But that's not the case. Almost everyone knows about it. My brother, who has no idea what Macs are or that iPod is only made by Apple (he thinks all music players are iPods), knows about the iPhone. And I didn't tell him. He did not even know about Apple before the iPhone. It depends, you see. People did not know Apple at all when they just had Macs in their line-up. Then came the iPod and a fair amount of people came to know about Apple and Macs. Now that they have launched a mobile phone, a product that has a worldwide market of one billion, they are going to get a lot more visibility. People know that there's a new entrant in the mobile phone arena. Specially in India, people do know, and care about, what is the latest in mobile phones and all. :)

IPHONE WILL HAVE THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE.

Do I have to ascend Mount Everest and shout it from there to make you guys hear it?
Can you give sourced to support your claim?
Dont bash me up, but this point is still mysterious. As up till, January, iPhone was supposed to be closed OS and no 3rd party support was going to be offered for applications, mind you applications, not accessories.

Apple had recieved a lot of criticism for this, and even online petitions were started by enthusiasts to force apple to support 3rd party applications on iPhone.

Then came the news that a game, on of poker, on Apples site promises compatibility with iPhone. But mysteriously, after some time, the iPhone support clause was deleted.

It would be better if you show up sources for you claim, in a quick glance over the web, this all was revealed to me.

Steve Jobs, in an interview with NewsWeek, had this to say about the rumours that were floating around saying that there would be no third party software for the iPhone:
That doesn't mean there's not going to be software to buy that you can load on them coming from us. It doesn't mean we have to write it all, but it means it has to be more of a controlled environment.
And in the recently held conference to declare the quarterly financial reports, the company declared that they will be releasing free software for both the iPhone and Apple TV.

Rest assured, there will be third party software for the iPhone and a lot of it will be free too (and you can always pirate the rest, if you are inclined to do so). :)

When I connected my N95 using NSU v1.3.60en,it says current FW is v10.0.018.

But NOkia news say:
"Version 11.0.026
17-04-2007
RM-159

This firmware is currently on restricted availability - not all regions / product codes will have an update yet."

Do you have any link for download? Plz share!

Friend i don know u bought or not.. if u haven't here is a suggestion.. see the display first.. all who has given there opinion don know they have seen the display or not..
I have seen and was not satisfied as the pixels were big like n73 and not crispy like n80.. just check before taking.
Note: Nokia never makes any phone without any flaw!
This was the first 16million color display.. if you like n93i go for it.Its also having 16million color display. its display was real awesome and same range..But again in look point of view n95 rocks..

Better put your hand on them and decide.

Also because n-series have lots of features and u can update firmware and so on.. don go for without bill..

Even E61 and a few more E series phones have 16M colours.
And not just N series, but you can update the firmwares of many more phones now, from S40 to S60 phones, all the new phones have firmware update support.

Don't buy N95:

#Expensive

#Display is far inferior to N80

#No FM Recording

#No usb charging

#Horrible battery,needs twice daily charging

#Lot of camera bugs!

#No optical zoom (like N93)

#Video quality not as expected

#Does not support more than 2GB

#Dual sliders prone for mechanical problems

Thats all.....He..He..heeee.........I can't be more jealous!!!!

Expensive matter has been discussed before. With all the features it packs ( though not usefull in India), it is pretty cheap and reasonable.

FM recording is not allowed in any phones as it goes against the Copyrights. I know a few phones from LG allow FM recording, but there was hue and cry against LG to allow to do so.

Battery horrible is a generalised statement. Recharging depends on your use and needs. WIth so many features inbuild, if you use all of them, it is obvious that you shall have to recharge it againa and again.

Camera bugs are present in every new phone, which Nokia solves with subsequent Firmware updates. Even Video quality can be improved using Firmware updates.
There is already a major firmware update out for N95, it has improved the noise in the images

Dual sliders prone to mechanical problems, you feel those people out there are fools not to have noticed this? Even at the time of Nokia 3250 people were rubbishing the twist interface calling it a mere problematic physic. I have been using it for an year, have not faced a single problem yet, nor has the twist got any loose.

Even the support for a higher storage memory card can be affed using Firmware updates.

I have no idea about Optical Zoom, but i believe N93 was marketed only as a Camera, whereas N95 is being marketed as a computer, Optical zoom was not expected.

Thats all.....He..He..heeee.........I can't laugh out more loud!!!!

OK. So the phone is perfect. It has no problems at all! LOL!

I'll tell you one problem, it is an ugly brick - like most other Nokia phones.

Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. I totally agree that for you it might be an ugly brick, for me its otherwise;)
