is there any free software to convert pdf documents to text ?

You should typically be able to use the Text Select tool in Acrobat Reader to select and copy text from pdf files and paste into any text file editor... If you need a software, there are many freeware available such as *www.ctdeveloping.com/ctdeveloping/products/pdftextreader_info.asp

I think Adobe Reader has a option to save the document as a text file!
