i want to build a pc with the following intentions

1.24 hours running
2.Least Electricity Consumption Possible (important)
3.no noise /
4.used for only doing things like

  • Downloading
    Recording from cctv feed
    youtube playback
5.include a good wifi card to transfer files from my other pc wirelessly
6.Budget = as cheap as it can be
7.Long lasting components
8.no speakers

As ASHIS Requested

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:
24 hrs CCtv feed record based on sensitivity
downloading , torrent ,
mild browsings

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:
as cheap as possible
less than 20k - 25k is good for my pockets

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:
NO
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:
Windows xp , 7 , 8 , Linux
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:
1tb + ssd(optional)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:
yes but should consume the least electricity
22 " or 23 " or 24 "

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:
Speakers , floppy
card reader
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:
1 or 2 months
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:
by myself yes
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:
yes
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:
yes
the pc should consume the least amount of electricity as possible
Most important Feature of the PC Build

anything else you should know??

suggest please:razz:

the RasPi with a custom cabinet and a good quality power adapter would cost you below 10K :p for sure..
get more HDDs with the saved money.

PS: the RasPi does not have VGA out. Only HDMI afaik.

> RaspberryPi would cost ~5k with an arcylic case on eBay.

> Yep, it only has an HDMI port.

> get the model B. it comes with 500 MB ram.

:+1: for rasberry pi, I suggest you get it from an authorised seller ( like RS , link on rasberry site ) rather than from eBay. AFAIK , it will cost 3k for the pi and 0.8k for the box, hence 3.8k. Then you can get the HDD , monitor ,etc easily without stretching your budget. Go for it, you won't regret it. :) .it is perfect for your needs as it won't overheat as it is small. A single 80mm fan can cool it :) ;). 24/7 usage won't damage it. My recommendation . Your choice.
