Right off the assembly line
My PC becomes very slow immediately after a few minutes of starting, including opening of web pages. Very frequently the message 'the program is not responding' appears on the screen and the 'end' is required to be pressed. The PC is checked for virus with McAfee and has no virus. I have a BSNL broad band with 100 Mbps speed for internet. The PC has 1500 Mhrtz speed. What could be the reason for the PC to become slow?

I have another question. "The Home page" buttons in the IE properties page are also not active and inoperable with the result I cannot change the web page of my choice. This has happened only recently.

I have deleted the files from the internet temp folders and its sub content folders. I have also performed scn disk operation on my PC. No new sw program/hw has been added recently. Can I get help from any of my Orkut members? Thanks.

what !!?? i guess its the speed between ur PC and the Modem... !!

anyway best is download this tool called HijackThis... run a scan and post the log file here...

and Clear ur Temp folder (note: not the Internet temporary rather the system temp folder) also whats ur RAM amount ?? Which OS u r running ?? make sure for Windows XP u have installed the SP2 with all latest update... u may try AutoPatcher XP to get all the latest updates...

also get SpyBot Search n Distroy.. run a scan with that... Get CCleaner to clean the registry entries... umm.. keep ur AVS upto date....

Still Shining!
Download this freeware and run a thorough system clean.
CCleaner *www.ccleaner.com/ Check all checkboxes before cleaning so that a lot of memory can be recovered.

@Tech Geek...

O23 - Service: Power Manager (PowerManager) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe
