Hey

My biggest nightmare..... i have forgot my windows administrator password. how do i recover it? my good (?) conditions as follows
1. User account is in running condition. but it is totaly restricted by Group policy.
2. I have a linux administration CD, thru which i can restore my pass but my HDD policy does not allow it.
3. My tool drive has been locked for unwanted uses, only administrator can access it.
4. i have linux installed into my 2nd hdd, but i can not mount it as i have created my boot in that 1st hdd.

any other sol.

Here's how to reset ur password:
Go to Run on the Start menu and type ‘cmd’ (without the quotes)
A DOS like command prompt window will open. You must see the flashing cursor.
At the command prompt type ‘net user administrator /random’ (without the quotes)

This will reset ur admin password and change it to the one shown on ur screen.

Well this is a suggestion for future.
Please create a password Recovery disk by going to

Control Panel>User Account>Prevent Forgotten Password.

You need A floppy disk to do this.:)

i have got only two replies that i can say that someone really going thru my question, hemant and hummmmmmmmm ... thanks.

any way ruthless... no need to keep a recovery fdd........... use SHIFT+F10 in repaire mode [Bill Gates keeps a hole in his windows]......... my password has been reset again....

mods... you can lock the thread....
