Guys
please help me. i have an hp pavilion 6121tx having 640GB HDD. the partitioning is done by the retailor. the picture from the Easeus Partition Master is atatched here.My problem is that the whole 586GB is allocated for C drive only. And the rest is for Recovery , System , HP tools. I want to allocate the 586GB to C drive and two logical drives.
For eg
C drive has 180GB
F has 250GB
G has the rest.
and do nothing with the recovery and such things.
How can i do this With Easeus Partition Master. Please help me

^Resize the partition. Leave around 60-100GB for C:, and rest for yours. Then create a new partition from the space allocated after resizing C:

If the system is running Windows 7, you can run the shrink volume option accessible by right clicking on my computer>Manage>Disk Management & right click on the C drive option shown in the new window & enter the size of new partition.

I have also done it my bro. But see this- Yest in one laptop I was trying prtitioning. C- 100 GB, D- 60 GB- E- xxGB F-xxGB. My only aim was to cut some 40-50 GBs to D. But windows was simply not allowing me to do. After clicking shrink, it didn't allowed me enter any non-zero value.

^Yes that's a glitch with that option whenever partions are already there. In my case it was a single partition but sarathsnair can run it on C and partition as C,D,E I suppose provided it is just the OS and no data that is present in it & rename D later on as the last partition say F. If no success go for any reliable 3rd party tool.

but i cant do this using easeus partition master. i can only cut some space from c drive and the rest is shown as unallocated space. but the problem is that it cant be allocated to a new partition. it shows that "convert one of the existed primary partition to logical"
then the unallocated space remains unusable  when i created a new simple volume using this unallocatd space in windows disk management utilty , all partitions changed to "Simple". This leads to a big problem that i cant enter to recovery environment  when i press F11 key it shows some error. Then i do a factory reset and everything changed to the factory condition. now also C drive has 582GB free  I used minitool partition application and it also gives the same error as in Easeus Partition Master :sad::sad:

backup ALL of C:/ drive.

use a linux live cd (like ubuntu), not any "windows" partition managers

get rid of the stupid hp tools and recovery partition.
in case anything ever goes wrong with your pc, just reinstall windows, or come back here. :p

the reason the S/W is showing error is coz you can have only 4 "primary" partitions on a hdd, or 3 primary and one extended.

so, boot into linux, run gparted, and delete hp partitions.

shrink the C: partition.

make required partitions.

save and reboot into windows.

you are done

Use Acronis Disk director, I use it personally and never faced any problem. Also I think there is no need of HP_tools partition. You should keep the recovery paritition.

er, that is a windows tool.
i'd not recommend it as it is running in a windows environment, and it may face issues and such, and may have arcane instructions/settings that are not user-friendly.

for example, there is setting for partitions in easus partition manager, called "simple" or "advanced" partitions.

if you search on the net, you wont find anyhitng on these topics.

however, with a bit of research, and some guesswork, i found out that these actually refer to the primary and exptended partitions.

this is why i dont recommend them.

gparted is safer, saner and more idiot-proof (no offense intended to all idiots out there :) )

use gparted live cd or any linux live cd. then resize partion c and created as many logical partitions as you need from the unallocated space.

do take a back up of c drive. this is not necessary as i am assuming its a new system and not much data is there in c drive except the windows installation. but still take a back up on a safer side.

^^ to make logical, you need to make an extended one first and then add logicals inside that, keep that in mind.

^^ yup missed to tell that. thanks for pointing that out.
you need to create an extended partition first since you already have 4 primary partitions which is the max for primary.

actually, you must delete one primary to make an extended, as you can have either :
4 primary
or
3 primary, 1 extended
