Optimux 2x UI is just a launcher/skin?

Hi

I came to know that unlike Touchwiz or sense LG's O2X UI is just a launcher or skin. In that case if we change it to vanilla gingerbread launcher is it possible to get full vanilla experience (stock contacts, stock phone...etc)?

Could anyone in this forum please answer my query?

Sense, Touchwiz & LG UI are all launchers + a bit of theming here and there. The former duo are extensively themed so you almost lost the feeling of whats running under them.

in case of Touchwiz and all, even the notification bar is themed heavily. In case of LG, installing gingerbread launcher will still leave the notification area untouched (that can't be changed easily unless tweaked with framework). So you'll be close to vanilla gingerbread but not perfect
