Right off the assembly line
i have a old seagate barracuda sata 7200.10 160 Gb hdd.
im going home next week and i'd like to take some important data with me, but i dont have a usb/sata interface.
im going to convert it to an external hdd, and am planning to wipe out all data on it using a shredder.

i'd like to know
1. whether i can use it in a desktop. the desktop has another sata hdd with windows installed.
2. if i can transfer files to the hdd using the desktop.
3. if i can do the above without shredding the hdd(hdd already has xp).
4. any other way/suggestion of using it.

Democracy is a myth
If u want to use it as an external USB HDD, why do u want to use it again "in" a desktop?

2. Yes u can
3. It should be better if u just format the drive, shredding would take very long time.
