Norton anti virus 2005 product key

I recently bought NAV 2005 from one of those street side shops in colaba(mumbai).when i installed it i needed the product key whicj was not provided.i searched for it thru google and found it then after i succesfully installed it.i needed to activate it using the same product key.but the product key was not rite and was not recognised by the symantec corporation.i found it wierd cuz i used the same product key for installation. Helllp!bachaoooooo!

uh oh.....seems to be a pirated disc that ya purachsed mate.....how much did ya get it for....btw if it was an original product then the key would have been on the Box or the Disc.....but since u found one of google (which is illegal again) then again symantec will refuse this pirated key

So then i guess not much u can do except buy an original copy 8) the key for registartion u get in that is used for all symatec purposes...like updates,installation etc. etc.

mostly it's a pirated version, that too without a key!!!!also, manufacturers (Symatec) will reject the Activation/Update of the products which have pirated keys, if they found out that the key has been leaked...this is what happened in ur case....

Go for Freewares....like AVG, AntiVir, Avast which r full fledged Antiviruses as good as (in some cases better) than Norton......

Thats got to be pirated and if you are a digit form member then you got to know what piracy is. Better use a Freeware antivirus such as Antivir PE or Avast!!
I'm using a pirated version of ZoneAlarm However!!

i would recommend 2 things chwamiki:
1. get a free AV such as AVG or AVAST
2. buy an original copy of NAV2005

well i dun suppose so.....cause that key is just given to one particular user for his registration purpose....and if u borrow it and insert for ur purposes its almost like stealing....which is ulitmately piracy.....there are lot of free anntivirus software available on the net why not use em instead of trying ways to activate ur pirated copy

try some of these for a change rather than that resource hungry norton.... 8)

its all rite that piracy aint legal or ethical , but 2 say ' pirated crap never works ' , aint the truth , n u no that . else how can u explain the expanding business of shops in places like palika bazaar (delhi ) n in ur mumbai(cant recollect the name of the place ........)

Exactly me too would admit tht most of users in Asian continent use pirated versions .of s/w(s) .. for sure .. i know a lot of them ... & this business is expanded to such an extent .. tht they dunt even think wat they R doing!

Being Lega or illegal it's a matter of destroying sth ... & dear Allwyn ... norton's same key work on many comps .. i have seen it working well .... although i'm not using NOrton 2005... i'm using Pc-Cillin 2002 it came with some M/B cd of my frd .. it works well .. but against Trojan it gets confused ...bachara roney lagata hain ....
Par it's fine ... works well effective ..much better than resource hungry ... ... I personally feel tht Piracy will always keep going on! uuntil people themselves feel tht it's wrong & for sure people will never feel tht bcz it saves a lot of money! ...

then i STEER clear of these pirated things cause
the keys et all are blacklisted
you stand to lose no updates etc
so rather go for the freewares
as i use AVAST and Zone alarm
and BOY i love these proggies
simple good and not EATING away your system
anyways heck with the it
dont wanna discuss that piracy cr ap again

@ankit.....dude the genuine key that is obtained from symantec after being registered once in thier database is valid for just that users purpose itself.....the key that u are talking about is the pirated disc key which can be obtained from many sites and just supplements the installation process and also this keys(pirated ones) dun give ya the authority to use symantec updates and the probs that the above dude is facin the product activation probs cause his key is already been reg earlier and hence symantec's database recognises this during validation

if by some luck on ur side the process just might bypass

If its a licensed version then the key must be legal.....so the phrase goes like this "where theres a pirated software then there's a pirated key" (of Course )

Well Allwyn as U said the pirated key can be used everywhere ... tou man! wat so big deal abt nething!

It hardly matters or bothers! neone .. my frd's R using Noron 2k5 with some key generator & it always generate a unique valid key! now tell me wat do U have to say!

Man! i think the people developing pirated keys! hae gone ahead so much tht .. nothing seems to be possible to stop them except self-awareness ...

& man! i'm sure there is nothing! like original key! the key generator i have seen always generate some unique key using ur phone code!! :roll:
