Dear All,
Kindly advise me as I have bought a semi-smartphone first time i.e. Nokia 5700.
Actually when I play mp4 files ( which are already bundled with the new phone) it works fine , but when I loaded new mp4 files from my pc, it plays this file with pauses, ( short pauses of 0.5-1 sec) . When I played the same file on nokia n-91, this works fine? whta may be the problem, as 5700 boasts to have RAM also. Pl guide me if it has some technical way out.
Regards,
Vivek

hmmm.. i think its related to the way you encode. try selecting a different bit rate while encoding it to mp4 on ur pc. experiment wid a few options till you get it working rite.

one more to try wud be to install a different media player and play the mp4 files you transfered in it and not the default player.

no no! ur computer software won't work in ur phone!

if the mp4 files are audio then try this software. download and then install it onto ur phone (prolly thru pc suite)

*symbianoggplay.sourceforge.net/S60V3.html

if they are video files then download and install: smartmovie

MP4 works on 5700 and actually have 2-3 full movies on my phone. I use Total Video convertor and it has inbuilt profiles for N73, 91...use that to convert and it will work perfect....atleast for me it does :D

try the following.....u can't really say what the problem is.

if ur phone can play mp3 files properly...then its not a hardware problem....
also check it it plays all other formats without any problems

also v.imp....those mp4 files ?? are u sure u have encoded them properly using some good software ?? if the encoding is bad...this might happen !!
so use a better converter and then try the other options !!

also update your phone's firmware..
try using other players to play them..

it also depends on the quality and bitrate of those mp4 files...try different combinations...also check out the file attributes of those mp4 files provided my nokia...so that u get an idea about the mp4 files that play well on ur phone

I used total video player and it is perfect now. thanks to all
The settings for cpnverting mp4 videos for Nokia 5700 are

Video = 320X240 pixel, 512 Kbps H.263 or MPEG4-SP
Audio = 64kbps MP4 Audio
Frame rate = 30fps

For Songs 128 kbps MP4 Audio.

Thats the max u should go for, u don't need anything else. I use riverpast so U can give that a try too.
