If you were eagerly awaiting the launch of Samsung's much hyped Galaxy Nexus smartphone, there's bad news. Samsung has announced that it will not be releasing the Nexus phone in India. Google and Samsung have partnered together to come out with Galaxy Nexus. The smartphone is powered by the latest Android 4.0 known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It also features Android Beam, face unlock, voice typing, HD display and 4G connectivity.

The disappointing announcement came through Samsung India's twitter page, "The Galaxy Nexus will not be launched in India. Watch this space for the next big thing!"

Rumour has it that Samsung has kept the launch on hold, while it focuses on its other major launch Galaxy S III, which will be unveiled in London tonight.

Recently, Google had revealed that Galaxy Nexus will be available on the new-devices section of the Play service, but even that option seems invalid for Indians.

So the higher end budget phone buyers will not be left with many options? The new Galaxy S3, iPhone 4s and the Lumia 900 also, Galaxy Note.

^ Is galaxy note is high end 'phone'? And HTC one X? These region specific brandings always suck

Galaxy note is the highest end and it's "more" than a "phone" :D [Source: SELF :)]
HTC One X is also a very good phone [Source: Random dude on the streets of Bangalore :p]
Also there is no region specific branding in India. All the phones available here are the unlocked international models.
