Guys, help me build a system which will cost between 25 to 30k. We will be using a crt monitor, so that should save us some money( a 19 inch will cost only 6400 and a 17 only 5400) the rest lets see-
preferably should have a motherboard with an integrated creative sound card, if not thats ok.
At least 250 gig hdd. No one will play games on this, so i wont need to overclock it at all. thats all, so, lets hear it!

For 30 k ... u can get a decent Non Gaming Rig with LCD monitor .... if u need everything like UPS, Speakers etc ... then go for following config...

Viewsonic 17" / 19" -- 7300/8200
AMD X3 8450 -- 5000 (Tri Core .... Absolute VFM for any task except Gaming)
Gigabyte 780 G motherboard -- 4800
2 GB DDR2 800 Mhz -- 1500
640 GB HDD -- 3800
Samsung DVD RW -- 1100
Zebronics Krrish Cabby -- 1100
Logitech Combo -- 700
Altec Lansing BXR 1121/VS2421 -- 1100/2200 (depending on your choice)
APC/Microtek UPS -- 2500/1700

Total 30 k with 17", VS2421 and APC UPS. u can modify with the options given above as per ur needs.

And do tell wats ur usage pattern in ur next post so that the exact config can be suggested.

Mostly watching films and listening to music, and more importantly working on Nuendo. NUENDO is an industry standard sound editing software. That will be the extent of my usage.
No graphics card required?

for that usage ... the above mentioned config is best. And regarding graphic card ... the 780 G chipset from AMD is an awesome chipset. Its powerfull enuff to tun Crysis on Medium Setting @ 1024 x 768. Its more than enuf for Vista Aero, HD movies and other general purpose computing. And Tri Core will help u in Audio Editing and Multitasking.

Great idea man !! good config , Especially for budget based good computing , tri core in AMD is not bad for gaming ,, it will not Do much better when compared to C2D E8400 , but it can handle games at its price level .... Good Go Ahead to buy this stuff

the amd system, can i have that with an nvidia setup? or is that not possible anymore? i read somewhere that amd bought over ati, so are only ati systems avlbl?
also, with that particular motherboard can i add a graphics card with it? will that help? suggest a gpu within a 3.5k max budget with dedicated memory please

1st : U can have a Nvidia setup in an AMD system..there are motherboards with onbaord grafix from nvidia for AMD ... but they are no MATCH for HD3200 onboard grafix that ATI is offerring on its 780G chipset. U dont need any seperate graphic card with the motherboard i mentioned coz it will handle all ur tasks + moderate gaming very easily.

2nd: If u still want a graphic card than u can add one on this motherboard as it has a PCIex Slot needed to put up a GPU .... u can use both Nvidia and ATI GPU in the board ... but an ATI GPU will be more beneficial as these motherboard has a powersaving feature i.e. powering off the GPU and using onboard graphics when doing normal 2d stuff (or when less 3d power is needed) .. and revert back to GPU when gaming or other heavy 3d stuff ... all this automatically. So ...if u r choosing this board then u dont need any GPU .. and still if u want (for more intensive gaming) then in your budget u can have HD3650 512MB from AMD ATI.

or else ..if u need a seperate GPU ... then u can opt for a cheaper Nvidia motherbaord and then add the rest of money in GPU purchase. I will recommend :

Asus M2N VM-DVI(nvidia) or M2A-VM DVI(ATI) for 3.2k ( so u have 1800 + 3500 = 5300 Rs for GPU)
and in 5.3k ... u can choose
Asus 8600 GT 256 DDR3 -- 4000
Palit 9500 GT -- 4.5-4.8k
Palit HD4650 Sonic 512MB DDR3 -- 5k (best performance)

Why do you require graphics card in that budget. although you can easily get it if you satisfy yourself with a 17inch CRT monitor and then the money saved can be easily used for a graphic card. That way you can make a midrange gaming machine.
