Hello everyone! I am in a problem. I had bought a Coloursit 450w smps yesterday(16-04-10). Now i find that its fan is on the top in relation with the power cables and the monitor power cable and its quite big.
All this while I had a Foxin cabinet which came with a smps. This one had the fan beside the monitor power cable.
Now what should i do? How do i fit it there? Is there any possibility or do I have to buy a new cabinet?
Plz help me guys...

The only way that unit will fit, is with the FAN blowing 'up' into the cabinet. Now if there is an issue, with the gap allocated for SMPSs in your cabinet, you will need another cabinet. The mesh with the on/off toggle will have to go facing out.

@ techani - colorsit psu comes with two fans - one at the bottom and another at the back side.

The bottom fan sucks hot air from inside cabby and the back fan blows away the hot air.

So fit the psu in such a way so that the bottom fan should face the cpu hsf

if your's is atx cabinet - the nortmal desktop cabby there should not be any prob fitting the psu but I think your cabby is a slim one.

If possible post a pic of your cabby or give it's model number and website link.

Ok the problem is solved. It was my mistake. I couldnt understand that the fan is actually at the bottom as told by Asigh and TopGear. But I didnt find any fan at the back. Though there are holes for ventilation. Thanks to everyone for the interest. Thanks...

The 450W model has two fans like I said one 80mm at the bottom and another 80mm at the back side - I know about it as I've used it - but from his post it's looks like the 450W model's design has changed - it's now sporting a 120mm fan at the bottom and has ventilation grills at the back side- so it's like many of the branded psu's like CM, corsair,Seasonic etc. :p

@ techani - glad to hear that your problem is solved :p
