hey guys as suggested earlier by vickybat i am starting a new thread for my own config i need major help from you guys n i know dat i can count on yall !!!

1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A: Gamin, Movies, Internet, Using programming s/w like .NET 2010 also n/w software like GNS 3 to run router simulations(they seriously EAT up RAM space), May even run OS sim using VM Ware.

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: YES

3. What is your MAX budget?
A:as i said 45K

4. Planning to overclock?
A: Dunno how to do it n how important will colling be if i do OC a processor and GPU

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Win 7 and also may be Ubuntu

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 1TB

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A: dunno some one suggested Benq G2220HD to me are there any similar products from AOC and how good are AOC monitors

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A: 4 - 5

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: Disassembled and Reassembled my old PC when i wanted to clean it Cudnt believe it when i found dust below the Processor

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A: End of april tops

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A:yeah if this config lasts a good 4 yrs ill be a lucky one

12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: I would need evrything except a speaker set as ill most probably be buyin a good headphone (Skullcandy or Senheisser just crossin my fingers if they will fall into my budget)

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: MUMBAI (Lamington road is the best place to get ur PC parts from bt u need to know the right place to go to or ull get ripped off big time)

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: Can any 1 also tell me how does one get to know how one gfx card is better than the other what i mean to ask what are the benchmarks that one needs to consider and compare when purchasing a good quality gfx card that is also good for the next 2 - 3 years :p

Hello mate.

Check the following:

Component| Make |Price
Processor |Intel Core i5 2400| 9.5K
Motherboard |Intel DH67BL| 5.8K
RAM |Corsair2x2gb ddr3 | 2.3k
Graphic Card |Sapphire HD6850| 9.5k
HDD |Seagate 500GB 7200.12/ WDC 500GB Blue| 1.7k
DVD Writer |LG 22X SATA DVD |0.9k
PSU |Corsair VX450W |3.5k
Case |Nzxt gamma |2k
Monitor |Benq G2220HD| 7.3k
Mouse and Keyboard |Logitech bundle| 0.7k
UPS |APC 800VA |3.5k
Headset | Steel series Siberia V2 |3k
| Total |49.7k

I overshot your budget but the system is quite future proof. Try to get a 6870 instead of 6850 for more gaming horsepower. It will be 2 -3k expensive.

The headset is awesome and i picked it from pc buying guide. Credit that to jaskanwar singh for his impressive findings.

^^ Read his no.12 requirement. He said he needs a good headphone. So suggested him accordingly.

@vicky: The OP wants a 1TB HDD..
So the total price will be around 50.7k (adding 1k). And he mentioned his maximum budget as 45k. Does he feel comfortable..?
@venram87700 : The graphics card suggested by vickybat is enough powerful to run all the future games ('future' means atleast 2 years) at atleast medium to high settings.

thanks for quick replies guys.
are there any alternative suggestions still to come and vicky dat budget is gonna pull my purse strings too tight coz its gonna cost me my salary for the next 3 months
ill certainly look into gettin a good gfx card but ill keep the headphones on hold coz the quite used and battered philips shp 2000 headphones that im usin now are quite good in the sound department
will wait for one more month after i buy the pc to get a good headphone as the one you suggested or else my mum will kill me :p

@OP: if you wanna cut down the prices then you can opt for phenomII x4 955BE @6.5k and gigabyte 880GM-UD2H (or if UD3H is available then go for it) @4.5k. (some people reported of a phenom II x6 available for 7.4k) but the rig by vickybat is much better.

I suggested him 500gb because harddisk can be added later but not a good cpu or gpu.

Venram87700 can upgrade his hdd to 1tb or more later.

Seagate 7200.12 1tb/WD Blue 1tb costs around 2.7k.

one more thing im thikin of is dat rather than buyin the pc whole at once why not spread the expenses oevr the next 2 months
like ill buy a processor n mobo dis month possibly along wid a HDD n then go for the rest by nxt month
so shud i go for i5 2500k and a p67b3 mobo if available or shud i go for an amd x4 or x6 processor wid a good gigabyte or msi mobo
coz i can spend around 20k this month n ill be buyin things after the 15th
@vicky the prices u quoted are they mumbai prices (ie lamington rd) ????
and do i need a UPS coz i live in mumbai and i rarely face power outages here
also abt the PSU any suggestions in the 600W region or is 450 enuff to run the config given by vicky coz i may also run xtra fans to help with the cooling

^^ The i5 2500k is highly recommended and you can certainly go for it.

Intel corei5 2500k @ 11k

Intel DP67BG @ 8.5k ( Its a p67 board and allows cpu overclocking but does not support on-die graphics and a discrete gpu is mandatory with this system).

Don't consider amd phenom 2 x4 or x6 now.

If you want to add a more powerful gpu , then consider

SeaSonic S12II 520 @ 4.1k

or

Corsair vx550 @ 4.6k ( 5 years warranty)

A ups is essential as it not only gives backup against power outage but also protects the system from power surges.

At lamington road , you may find better prices than these. So bargain hard.

thanks for the quick reply vicky !!! :D
abt the ups ill reserve it for the future coz i have an excellent surge protector connected to my current PC n i havnt faced any power surges in my area till now for the last 15 years coz i live near an industirial estate so no tension of regular power outages as well :D

^^ Actually jaskanwar singh had found the prices and posted them in buying guide. He had been digging out headphones for all budget and credit goes to him.

bt for me buyin this whole config will take most probably till the end of april till then ill keep my fingers crossed tht the prices of computers n other electronic goods falls by march end so that i dont hav to stretch my budget so much

which is that intel mobo? the intel dp67bg?
get G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL. will save you 700 bucks.
and you can get a 500gb now. add later. you will save 1000 bucks.
now spend the saved on a 6870 for 12k.~~
graphics card matters more for gaming. the powerful the better.
