I have a laptop and a desktop and a wireless router (Netgear). The Sify broadband lan chord goes into the router. The laptop accesses it on wireless mode and the desktop through a lan cable.
Now what i want is to copy data from the desktop to the laptop. How do i do it using these elements ?
Can it be done directly somehow by connecting the two by that lan chord.. (some issues with cross/parallel ?? ?? ..)
Any help ?

The cable that connect UR desktop to ur router is Straight cable not a cross though cable... So forget to use it..

using parallel LAP LINK cable is a costly option that would cost u arround 150 bucks and lenght is also a constraint...

You can do one thing go to any PC assembler and ask him to make a cross cable for you it would 7rs/feet + 10rs/two connectors and his labour 10 rs
all cost depends on the cable length...

connect ur destop with laptop nw..

let me know if you have any issues....
