Well I actually like nero.. not for burning DVDs but for other tasks like wave editing, DVD ripping, editing videos, adding watermarks in videos, and CD/DVD emulation.. It bundles so many features at a reasonable price...I am amazed.
But CD/DVD writing is the only thing you want.. better try a freeware such as InfraRecorder or Inbuilt XP CD recording feature.

what new features did they add? built in games, windows updates, or a seperate OS just for burning cds n dvds.

right click the nero 7 setup and extract it using winrar-it comes to around 700mb.so this one is just 258mb more with all language packs.this one has great interface and features.but it costs too much so i prefer to use infrarecorder and roxio toast.

I Got Nero 8 On The Day It Was Released On Torrents . I Downloaded And Installed And Got Good Interface And Good Speed While Writing ( Dvd @ 8x In Just 8 Mins ) . But When Opened Help In It I Got Help File Of Nero 7 . All Other Small Utilities Like Drive Speed, Image Drive Are In Toolbox . I Liked The New Interface Of Nero Smart .

I Am Using Nero 8 .
