Nero 8 , the latest edition by Nero Burning Rom was leaked on the internet before its release on the website
The product made available at the retail stores was available a day later on P2P websites much before Nero could update its website for the product release

I don't find a reason to upgrade from Nero 7 on Windows Vista, might look into InfraRecorder.

There is no reason to upgrade for me... each new version hogs more memory and packs in useless features i dont need...

^^lols.

Beware all the fellow digitians who use nero 7-8,These programs call back home after installation.Better stick to the versions you get free with your cd\dvd drives.

I also wonder how the hell these people get hold of movies and softwares that haven't been released. In one instance a recording company was asking a torrent site to remove a particular torrent from their site because they want to release that movie.hehe.

Ok 'they try to call back home' .But they really do and then nero will provide you a link to their site and give you some discount(like 25% off) if you purchase that product. This happened to one of my friend. They give you discount for pirating their software.

I think the version mentioed is All Language pack included one...

even with Nero 7, if you go for the All Language one size is around a full CD !!! :(

You guys are indeed forgetting one thing. Yes it is a bloat & yes nero should Provide a package with "Burner & Encoder only" for something like $30.

However if u pay for the full nero package then this is even a better deal then buying Happy meal from mcdonalds. Have you ever tried looking at what nero bundles & how capable those apps are. If you pay for nero & buy it legally you won't need any other software in your computer for those other tasks like media server or DVD ripping etc

Its interface is pathetic and slow. The kind you yourself become surviving on the 'Happy meal'. And that stupid Media Centre they bundle along, its total bull sh*t, takes up to 2 minutes trying to run something on it even on a 2 GB RAM system. The burner is indeed stable and all but most of the rest are sub-standard, even the Windows Vista Ultimate parts perform way better.

Ahhh..did you say DVD Ripping using Nero???
Well it seems that there are a lot of freewares with loads/tonnes of guides about ripping using these freewares than shell out $$$ for Nero and use Recode2.

Just my 2 pence thought....
