Need to upgrade processor and motherboard for 8K max

Need an upgrade

current spec :-

Intel c2d 1.8ghz
Intel MB D946gzis
4Gb DDR2 ram

would prefer intel config but for this budget have no problem with AMD

Usage:- Basic plus lot of photoshop

Would not mind buying online or locally (for me it would be Indore)

If possible Include 4Gb DDR3 ram in 8K else no problem will add more to buy that.

also let me know if you have any better config but it goes little out of my budget, will consider that max 2k+

money is not the problem but I feel what I will get in that is enough according to my usage..

Please correct me if not so. I feel 1.8ghz is just bottleneck for todays task.. system with c2d 3ghz perform lott better then mine..

but If I am not wrong I can get decent mb and quadcore amd processor within my budget

Actually in 8K, it is hard to fit a good config from both Intel and AMD side. In case of Intel, you have to opt for a Pentium non-HT Dual Core like G2020 and a B75 motherboard which I don't think is a good upgrade.
For quad core config:-
AMD FX-4300 @ 6.7K
Gigabyte/Asus 760 Chipset based Motherboard with USB 3 @ 4K
4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 @ 2.2K
