as 4 a wma cd can hold 2000 songs, it depends on the bitrate @ which u have encoded ur songs. lowere d bitrate gr8 d number of songs you will be able 2 hold in the cd, but it will affect d qlty of sound. MS claims dat 64kbps of wma is eq t0 160 of mp3 which will mean if 154 songs [avg 4 mins] of mp3 r burned in a cd then u will be able to burn 385 of the same using wma
but i still prefer d mp3 format
Both MP3 and WMA (windows media audio)are audio codes.
1) MP3
Its compression ration is 11:1 means..if a 20 MB audio source is compressed in MP3 format at a bit rate 128kpps ,than resulting file would be around 2 MB.
It is a lossy compression..means some quality is decreased.
2) WMA
A 10 MB audio file can be compressed to max. to 7 MB in WMA format.
It is a lossless code.Means quality of sound will not decrease.
Conclusion:
MP3 format is most popular format than anyother audio format because of small size and without much difference in audio quality.
