Need help - To buy a good phone - Budget 15K

Hi Guys,

I have decided to buy a new Phone.
My Budget is around 12-15K(MAX)

Phone Usages
1. Talking - The phone should have clear sound and decent reception.
2. Music - I currently don't have any PMP. so I will use phone to listen music when on the move.
3.Gaming - I enjoy gaming a lot. and would love to have decent gaming support in my phone.
4. Camera - In this budget I can get only a mediocre camera. Also I have a Kodak 813. So camera don't matter much. it will only be used occasionally.
5. Foam factor - Please don't suggest folding phones.
I like Slider best. Candy bar is kind of Good

What's a PMP? There's a PMP in my profession - Project Management Professional but that's the first time I've heard of this term being applied to a music player.

Anyhow, if you need good support for gaming and music, the N81 8GB seems to be the obvious choice. It's well within your budget as well.

If you need a better camera, the SE G700 might be a good choice, although there are fewer games on the UIQ platform than S60 and you'll miss out on WiFi. Another possible option is the 6210 Navigator.

The W910 is nice but has a slightly wobbly slider, or at least mine had one. Check before you buy one. I think the W595 is better overall.

but then yesterday i compared 5320XM with N81
Advantage of 5320XM over n81
Newer OS - S60 rel. 3.2
Faster 3G - HSDPA, 3.6 Mbps (384 kbps for N81)
Nokia Say and Play
Java MIDP 2.1 (2.0 for N81)
Lighter weight
Lower prise (Difference is about 5K)

Everything is more or less same
The only advantage with n81 is bigger screen (2.4 inches and WiFi, Support)
So is it worth to spend 5K for these two features.

DOUBTS -
1. Will 3G Data rate difference 3.6 Mbps vs 384 kbps make any difference while browsing sites or checking mail coz even if u have 10 Mbps LAN or 100 Mbps LAN on ur PC. there is no difference as in net speed as total bandwidth utilized in only 2Mbps.
2. What is HSDPA (I have senn wikipedia etc.) if someone can please explain its pratical value.
3. Costs - ZN5 ?

1. Nope, since you aren't on a 3G plan.
2. HSDPA/HSUPA are enhanced 3G technologies, sorta like 3.5G. Getting those speeds on Indian networks is going to take some (or rather, a lot of) time.

5320 is also a good phone. But still I would've got the N81.

1. Yes, it will. The MTNL 3G service launched in Delhi is 2 Mbps and you would need a phone supporting HSDPA to make full use of it.

2. HSDPA is 3.5G, which is essentially faster than UMTS which is 3G. UMTS only goes up to 384 kbps whereas HSDPA goes all the way up to 3.6 Mbps.

3. ZN5=15.4k.

And W910i costs 13k.

I'll say to buy Motorola ZN5. It has great Sound Quality (SQ) and a great 5mp camera with Xenon flash. And also got Wi-fi too. Main disadvantage is that it lacks 3G.

But if you want a phone purely for gaming, then N81. Sound quality is good but camera is just 2mp with sucky quality. It got UMTS/3G and Wi-fi.

You might also want to have a look at SE F302, its extremely good for gaming.

^^It won't be 18K with the supply/demand ratio very high. People are willing to pay even 25K for nokia's first touchscreen phone.

And if budget is 15K, get Android, Symbian S60 or WinMo. Don't go for phones like ZN5 with limited available apps.
