What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A:Gaming, Frequent net usage(~15hrs), vlsi design, dvd decrypting/trans-coding

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?
A: Yes

3. What is your MAX budget?
A: 40k

4. Planning to overclock?
A: Definitely

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A: Win7 Ultimate 64-bit

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 1TB (single drive), no SSD’s

7. What resolution will the screen run at & what’s the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A: 1600x900(I already have a monitor) But will also use Samsung HD TV as secondary display for gaming and movies.

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A: 5

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A: Two systems two years ago.

A: Yes

A: Sound cards, TV tuners

13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Chennai, TN. Not willing to purchase from shops in other cities.

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: Need two displays: 1.VGA (for Monitor) 2.HDMI (HD TV)
Will be buying a dGPU after 2 months so I will require an iGPU. So I'm planning to go for a Z68 board preferably ASUS P8Z68V-PRO with Intel i5 2500k.

I don't think its a good idea to use this machine as a Download machine. It consumes a lot more power than either a laptop (90W max) or a netbook/nettop(50W ?)

My PC eats up 600W on load. Similar config. I use it to DL when I am playing a game or surfing net. But never explicitly just for the DL to run.

After you fill in that ^^ questionnaire you will get better ideas.

BMG ftw!!
PSU from corsair is lot better than PSUs from cooler master because of full load issues.

@Cilus: I appreciate your PC estimate:doublethumb:, about the Asus Maximus IV Z68 GENE-Z, it does not have VGA, BT and is uATX. In what way is it better than P8Z68V-PRO overlooking the ROG feats..?
