Need Good Quality DDR3 RAM

Hello Everyone , A friend of mine wanted good DDR3 RAM Sticks as he previously had some cheap DDR3 1333 Mhz RAM . He has an i5 2400 and a MSI P67A-GD55 board. (dunno why he bought such a cheap RAM):shock:.

Max Budget = Rs 4500 not a penny more than that

I am looking forward to - G Skill Trident (2x2 GB) and Corsair Dominator (2x2 GB)
suggestion from all of you pls. about prices, performance etc. and for the info he will never overclock.

What are the prices in Kanpur ? if anyone knows or if anyone here is of kanpur.
or if should he buy online?


Note :- I will reply between 4 pm to 11:30 pm . cause I go to school. :cool:

1st of all why did he get a p67 board with i5-2400?

DDR3 RAM prices have dropped to a great extent. New 4GB DDR3 RAMs now cost only 1.4k. So save the remaining cash (ask him to get a decent/Branded PSU with the cash if he has a Generic/Local PSU).
Go for Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1600MHz @ 1.8k. No need to waste money on Dominator series with i5-2400.

He doesn't need a PSU , he already has a Corsair GS 600. And he was fooled by the shopkeeper for that p67 board (shopkeeper told him more money = more performance) as he didnt even consult me .:oops:

So I just wanna ask which is better Trident or Dominator (2x2gb) and if anyone knows their price.

AFAIK P67 boards support 1600MHz at best. So, go for Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 4GB DDR3.
He would need Dominator or Trident series if he OCs a lot. But as his CPU is not OCable so OCing RAM wont give him much significat boost.
