Need Config Help for Entertainment PC(Upgrade)

A:It will be used for Entertainment,little bit of gaming(Games from 2003 not latest games )

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?

4. Planning to overclock?
A:No

5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A:Win7 64Bit

6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A:1TB( I have an existing 1Tb HDD)

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want? If you already want have one and want to use it, mention its resolution and size.
A:1024x768(have an old monitor)

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A:Assembler

10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A:within a month(Around Diwali)

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?

you should get a good monitor too . as if you are watching HD Movies that monitor at that resolution wouldnt be much fun and you cannnot enjoy the full hd experience. So,

@rajatGod512 chose a motherboard which has USB 3 support
while @thetechfreak suggested a motherboard which doesnt have USB3 support.Since i wont be upgrading my MOBO+CPU for atleast 3 years and assuming future external HDDs would be mostly USB3 should i go for USB3.
I'm thinking of going with i5 2400 as suggested by @thetechfreak.
Are there any good Intel MOBOs with USB3 support or should i drop the idea of getting USB3.
@rajatGod512 I'll be upgrading my monitor in 6months.
Monitor,HDD,DVD Writer can wait for now

you can opt for Intel DH67VR @ ~4.1k which has USB 3.0 ports ( 2 at back ) but it has no VGA output - gfx output options are DVI+HDMI

Guys pls stop suggesting 1600MHz RAM for H67/H61 mobo, its just a waste of money...
