Need caonfiguration based on Intel® X25-V SSD

A: Graphic card, i will add the graphic card later; on board is good for now
13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Hyderabad

A: I read a feature of gigabyte mobo ( "SATA3 storage interfaces with superfast 6Gbps link speed and RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 support".) will it enhance the performance if i choose Inter X25-V SSD ? Also, i am thinking to go for AMD processor as it will reduce the budget...

did you gather the price of Intel® X25-V SSD that itself may cost you around 7K

so next question is are you looking to buy a monitor also. and what kind of gfx performance you are looking for. better be it how much are you thinking of spending on gfx card.

in the july issue of digit, the cost is given around 5k. Regarding gfx, if it is on-board then it will be better (as i am planning to buy a good card later this year). I need the gfx mostly for watching HD rips and photoshop. Also, i am planning to buy a LCD 22" or 21"

SSD is good and nice option, especially to use it as primary drive, speed and power.
Also I will suggest if you want to buy furthur HDD, better buy external HDD having external power source.

AMD is the best option in the price range.
I like this config which jas had suggested in one of another threads.

Athlon II x4 635 @ 5k
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H @ 4.4k ----- look in for more mobo options if you like
2 * 2GB DDR3 1333MHz @ 5k ------ buy 2GB if you want to wait for DDR3 RAM prices to lower
WD 500GB @ 2k ------- remove this as needed
LG H55N DVD @ 1k ------- also can look for samsung burners but buy SATA burners and not IDE
FSP saga II 400W @ 2k --------- better buy 500W of same brand and same model series. More wattage will make your system future proof for your future addons.
CM elite 310 @ 1.5k ------ nice cabinet I would say do not look backward or forward for this
DELL 18.5" Monitor @ 6k -------- take the 2K from WD 500 GB and put it in here. 22 inchers from samsung and Dell are around 9K
Logitech Keyboard & Mouse @ 0.7k ------ this is very good bundled option of mouse keyboard combo. if you want something else then consider Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 @ 1.1k and microsoft mouse which would cost 425 bucks

when buying HDD, as I said buy external ones,

this total budget I guess keeps you around 35K so it is good.

better go for WD black edition instead of SSDs. Your computer will be speeded up more by better components than an SSD at that budget.

V series is just 40GB and its not enough. Also don't go for these 1st Generation SSD they may have some problems.

Guys, the current generation of SSDs are quite good. The memory controller unit is nice. Also their MTBF is quite high.

I know many guys who are using 40/60GB has OS host drives and gives them great performance boot. The Win7 load times are under 10 seconds, shut down is like 2 seconds...! Flipside is that they are expensive. But if one can manage --- why not.

I am not able to understand this SATA3 thing, which i mentioned above. I want to know (just for understanding) whether it will enhance the usage of SSD.

stay away from this SSD bro...aint good..get the Corsair 40GB ones, they are sandforce based, MUCH faster, cost Rs600 more (Rs7200 shipped from itwares)

yeah sure it will enhance if the read speed of SSD is more.
SATA3 means more speed do not remember what IO speed SATA3 is in(like your broadband more bandwidth means increase speed, basically SATA3 is of higher bandwidth than SATA2)
