need a media center mother board

hello every one
my friend is buying a PC for entertainment,
so i wanted to ask you is there any mother board which can play music on hard disk directly with out booting pc,

or if there is any device which can do the job,

Umm.. If you want to play music directly out of your hard-drive, try devices called carputer .
Also, there are some hard-drive enclosures, that can play music when a hard-drive is popped in. Check this link.


BTW, there are specialised PCs for this kind of operation called SFF PCs , esp by EPOX. Research on it a bit.
