@talktoanil
i am not using a router
just The white body and blue face Nokia Siemens Modem given by BSNL
it is in PPPoE mode

how to do port forwarding?

windows firewall is good but is restricting my D/L speeds
so i installed aVast! Free AV and Zone Alarm Firewall and Malwarebytes combo
and now i am getting a speed of 52-55KBps average

but i don't have the vanilla copy of Windows 7
only the :cough::cough: version :-D
Microsoft security essentials won't install here
hey u dont need to get panic
u know what all antiviruses are almost same :lol:
ya its true
i've only installed norton IS 2010
previously i had avira<avast

it makes no sense to me

now u might be wondering that y installed so many a/v one after another

its simple ..they all ran out of their trial date deadline :lol:

But u know what u can do something better
u just install Norton Goback
its a backup utility in a more advanced form
just try it and u wont regret it

even if my PC get infected with viruses i just restore my pc to a latest safer time and
used the goback utility to restore the data that i lost
and u can also get the file revisions for a particular file (it helps so much in restoring the old version of a saved game file :D)

NOTE:there is a -ve point about this utility
U CANT RUN SOME OF THE HARD DISK UTILITIES SUCH AS DISK FORMAT,ERROR CHECK,etc....

now a completely different problem
my cpu vcore is automatically changing between 1.12v and 1.47v
is this normal?
the vcore shoots up when i am playing Far Cry(old one)
or unzipping files,using Malwarebytes,Avast,etc to check files etc
see the two pics below

Its normal IMO.

Btw use Avira antivir and Comodo firewall. No need of any other *wares.

@Piyush
no no i have Avast free version registered for 1 year with free updates
@All
i am trying to download a torrent using Vuze(bittorrent client based on Java)
butt my dl speeds are being seriously throttled by the Windows 7 firewall i think
i am getting a measly speed of 22KBps when i should get 52+KBps(UL750 plan)

i checked the NAT/Firewall test in Vuze and came with following result

even the inbuilt speed test is failing to give a result

please help!!

I used to have the same problem when I first installed the Windows 7. Try to stop the Windows Update. It'll automatically takes most of your bandwidth.

i am using a combo of Avast! Free Antivirus, ZoneAlarm Firewall and MalwareBytes
hope this combo keeps my pc safe now
The the downloading and browsing speeds are back to normal now, after disabling Windows Firewall

remove Malwarebytes. no use. install it once a month & scan for any spyware, adware, etc. i use SUPERAntiSpyware, McAfee AVERT Stinger, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware & Emsisoft Anti-Malware (installed permanently). keeps PC clean from the Crack/Patch etc that gets downloaded sometimes (i mean regularly :grin: ).

arre yaar, your proccy is having Cool & Quite enabled. so it'll shift between different states depending on load. 2.9Ghz, ~2.4Ghz, 1.8Ghz & 800Mhz. different states needs different amount of Vcore. so the Vcore keeps changing. nothing serious.

Games/threaded apps makes your proccy run at 2.9Ghz. so need for extra vcore arises. & so the Vcore goes up. at 800Mhz. Vcore should be 0.9-1V. at 2.9Ghz ---> 1.3V (default is 1.45 or more. lower it manually or install Gigabyte EasySaver)

i don't think all AV delete system files like CrapAfee do.

its simple ..they all ran out of their trial date deadline :lol:

this is the problem i used to have with antispyware & system/registry cleaner. now shifted completely to freeware. though i still have many cracked/illegal versions.

another good utility is Comodo TimeMachine.

Its normal IMO.

yes Avira & Comodo works well. though i have Avast + Comodo.

What The.... !!!
will install Avira and comodo firewall tomorrow
it seems this combo is working for many people :)
so i will give it a try
i also happen to have some Bit Defender and AVG9 legal keys
got them from a giveaway
but Bitdefender is too resource hungry so i am not using it(got about 2 unused bitdefender keys with me, i can give them to anyone who needs them)

i know that
my point was that the proccy was being flooded with exess Vcore voltage(1.47v!!)
i heard that it is not recommended to keep the processor voltage at "Auto"
that is why i want to reduce the voltage and temps so as to increase their lifespan without sacrificing any performance

p.s.
@all
i have downloaded K10 stat
but i have no idea how to use it
i don't want to risk my Proccy experimenting with various options!
please help with K10 stat !!

remember disable Defence + Setting in Defence+>Advance>Monitoring setting. though its not advisable but better do it. else it'll bite you to death. for almost every click you'll get notification.

BitDefender's detection is less as well as demands more, AVG = system hogger.

yes, 1.47 is the normal Vcore for Athlon II X4 635. brought it down to 1.200V. tomorrow will try reduce it to 1.15V & if possible close to 1.1V (i know its really hard). running perfectly stable @ 1.200V. gamed for 30min, temperature touched 42degree but in 10min came back to 31degree (30 is minimum).

So heres the summery:

2.9Ghz ---> 1.200V
800Mhz ---> 0.860V

Target:

3Ghz ---> 1.150V
800Mhz ---> 0.8V (0.7V possible)

forget that K10stat. go to Bios & lower proccy voltage to 1.2V. do it. game for 30min with HW Monitor open in background.

@sourav
dont go for bitdefender
it will make ur pc to go on its knees for a couple of days

my pc normally boots up in 12-15 sec
but when i added bit defender it started to slow down and boot up time increased to more than 1 min
