Must check before buying smart phone

As long as the device has an Offline/Flight mode, it doesn't matter really. Who turn off their phone and turn it on every morning? and if your OS has a good Task manager(which closes all the running/battery hogger apps), then there will be negligible battery decrease over the night (6-7 hours).
I only turn off a phone when it froze/hang, and that happens once in two weeks, sometimes more.

Actually come to think of it. Why would one turn of a Smartphone --- on a regular basis. Once in a while it is understandable.

i never switch off my mobile. during travelling (night time) i change to flight mode to conserve battery.

i need mobile to be on as i dont use wrist watch.
