MTNL broadband question?

hi everyone,

my hsc exam going to be end so i am going to get internet connection so i am opting for mtnl unlimited plan of 512kbps for basic internet surfing and downloading movies etc. so i am not going for combo plans as i donot want telephone usage and i don not have telephone connection in home.so my question is:

1)is it is compulsary to take telephone?
2)what is security deposit for?
3)which to get - normal modem or wireless modem

adsl broadband works using a telephone line so whether or not you take the phone the phone line will come to your home.security deposit is there for any service(water,electricity,telephone etc).wireless modem will be better in the long run & get it from market(better brand & value for money) instead of getting it from mtnl.

@ASHISH65: u will have to take the telephone line when opting for MTNL broadband connection then they will provide a ADSL router (monthly rental if u dnt have your own)...
