hey guys, MSI R5830 Twin Frozr II Overclocked Edition ATI Radeon 1GB DDR5(Beats 550ti badly) - Delhi - Computers - Hardware
just saw this post on olx...and by reading its caption i was wondering that how a 6k gpu can beat a 20k gpu(660ti , its mentioned there) and 550ti badly(as mentioned there.) please give your views on this.

The card is higher end of the HD 5000 series , it can beat out middle end newer gen card.As HD6950 beats HD7770 easily and gives a tough competition to HD 7850. But the information provided by the supplier at OLX is pure bulls**t. A 5830 is equal to or sometimes slower than a GTX 550Ti . See benchmark at Anandtech. 5830 is nowhere close to GTX660Ti, there is no competition . Also the HD5830 Produces more heat and consumes more power than newer gen cards.

So,Well I am going to purchase new dekstop in a few days and going for hd7770...
should i go for this?
or hd7770 wud be a better option?

NOTE : i am gettng it for 5.6k

HD 7770 is a better option and actually performs better than HD 5830. HD 7750 is equivalent to HD 6850 with the new driver updates and HD 6850 is almost equivalent to old HD 5850. Now HD 5830 is a stripped down version of 5850 and hence less powerful than HD 7770.
