Mozilla takes on MS Silverlight and Adobe AIR

The program is called Prism and is intended to address the problem thus described by Mozilla:

“Personal computing is currently in a state of transition. While traditionally users have interacted mostly with desktop applications, more and more of them are using web applications. But the latter often fit awkwardly into the document-centric interface of web browsers.”

It's like flash but with much more features and very higher performance than Flash.

Well Silverlight surely has some substance as it as recieved a lot of acclaim from developers.

One of the reasons for that is because you can use any .NET programming language to develop web-apps in SilverLight.
But its still not platform independent.
I Know Mono Exists,But it isnt anywhere close to reproducing a .NET clone.
