getting a new motherboard is not a smart thing to do....get a new graphics card, something like the ATI HD5450 should be fine :)

The name of the thread should be Graphics Card for 26" monitor.
Running a 26" monitor, Graphics card is the most important thing, not the motherboard.
HD 5450 will serve good for watching HD contents on this monitor, but just forget about gaming. For this get HD 5670 1 GB minimum, but recommended is HD 5770 1 GB.

U mean 8500 GT?
Also one thing is there.Old motherboards wont go over some resolution even with good graphics card.

If your friends have any good cards, you can try that in yours provided that you have a decent PSU or else it'll be blown:flamethrower:
