motherboard crased.....help needed ASAP

i had bought a pc in 2005.....
the warranty period has expired....

few dayz back it stoped starting.....
then i contacted the person from whom i had bought it.....
he checked n told dat d IC has being damaged n it cant b repaired locally....
there 4 d motherboard has to b get replaced 4 a new one ....

i wannted to ask dat ....can the IC be changed by local vendor ...
if yes den plz suggest some proper place in mumbai were i can take my pc ....

what kind of IC, ask him the full details.. there are many IC's in a motherboard.. and this can't be said as such.. ask him whats the problem.. maybe only your SMPS is faulty.. also contact some other repair guy.. dont rely on only one person

Yeah check it with other technician,don't rely on these guys.
If the repair expense is high go for a new one.

Most dealers will try duping customers in such situations.Do check out witj atleast 3 technicians before making any decision.
