I do not need to compare this phone with the iPhone to show that it is ugly. It is ugly in comparison to most phones out there, and the iPhone is sexy in comparison to most phones out there. There is no comparison between the two when it comes to looks. But I have repeatedly said that I am not concerned about the iPhone here.
2 way slide N-series: As if that matters.
S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1(Symbian 9.2): It is a new phone from Nokia and it will have the latest version of Symbian. Big deal!
HSDPA (3.5G) phone (category 6 HSPDA device which means it is up to 10 times faster that WCDMA (3G)): Which also means that it is useless in India at present and for a long time to come.
5 MP (2592 x 1944) Carl Zeiss optics mechanical shutter cam with autofocus & DVD video(VGA 30fps) & a secondary CIF videocall camera; all taken in landscape mode.. a la the SE camphones: Yeah, its got a great camera. I mentioned that myself.
the WLAN: Most high-end phones have it, including the iPhone.
3D stereo speakers: W550i and a few other phones have it too.
MP3, AAC, eAAC, AAC+ and WMA files: Its great that this phone plays a lot of formats but I can always convert my files to other formats if my phone, whichever it is, does not play it.
mini-USB 2.0 connector: Ah! An incredible, new, unheard-of feature!
built-in GPS navigation with anticipated accuracy of around 10m (satellite signal permitting) and an installed Maps application covering over 100 countries: First of all, let me clear one thing for you. iPhone uses Google Maps to show you the traffic and directions, so it works all over the world. It is, however, not a GPS application so it does not show you your own location. This phone does. Another great feature.
TV-Out: One more good feature the iPhone lacks.
3.5 inch mini-jack connector, dedicated music buttons and camera buttons: If these are the boast-worthy features, there must be a real shortage of real features.
2.6" QVGA 240 x 320 pixel TFT 16M color display: The iPhone has a better display that also happens to be a Multi-touch enabled touchscreen.
160 MB of internal storage memory: iPhone has eight gigabytes.
64 MB of RAM: I don't care about the RAM as long as it runs fast. And this device is guaranteed to run pathetically slow.
Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR support, uPnP, infrared, UMTS, GPRS and EDGE, SIP support, BL-5F Battery with a proposed talktime of up to 6.5hrs & standby time of 220hrs: Blah blah blah!
All that in compact body of 99 mm x 20 mm x 53 mm and weight of just 120 g: A 21mm thick phone is compact! By which angle!!! You have to carry it in your pocket. It is even thicker than my W550i.
This phone's a bomb: And will cost a bomb too, probably as much as or even more than the iPhone.
I am not saying it is not a good phone, but I would never recommend such an ugly and thick phone to anybody just for a 5 MP camera, GPS and TV-out. I know it is a matter of choice and if someone prefers this one, go for it. But I just wanted to state that it looks ugly and that it does. It is one of the ugliest phones ever made.
