Frankly it is not future proof. No update to windows 9(pretty sure)
But still, why should I consider a windows phone?
Any specific model?

I never said you should choose WP :p . Agreed with your point but not the apps one and yeah it ain't as future proof as N4 (or droids under same budget are. )
Devices like Nokia L920 seems fine.

Oppo has a better screen, better battery, better sound, better dev support(faux making kernell for stock ROM) and a good after sales support(updates).
Xperia has a better camera, brand value and a sd card slot.
I would root it and put a custom ROM (Which it doesn't have many)on ZL if I was buying it for me. It is for my dad so I would want it to be rock stable.
Note is just too big(also bad screen) and Optimus G, well is by LG. I have an Optimus 2X so I wouldn't recommend anyone getting a LG phone if you are not comfortable with flashing custom ROMs.

I totally disagree with that. After their Optimus 3.0 UI there customization is superb. LG phone are way more stable than any samshit. good after sales service. I am still having my old LG P690 [Never faced even a single issue - touch wood]
Optimus G is rock solid with very less issues as compared to samshit. :high5:

Let me tell you what happened with my device. It was the first dual core phone in the market, lg's flagship phone and it was released with froyo when gingerbread was already out. A few months later ics is released and LG says they will not support O2X anymore. After a lot of emails and hate posts they finally decide to release ics with a locked bootloader after almost an year(which still had a few bugs) , yes an year after ICS being released.
LG's hardware is the best bang for the buck, but their software sucks.

Is warranty of Oppo Find 5 is available in India?
And I think there are no service centers of Oppo in India..
BTW OP dad doesn't care about the updates...He needs good and easy UI..and with a warranty..
So would prefer Windows..Or buy android phone with warranty.

No, you have to ship it to Hong Kong. They pay the shipping charges. He is the kind of person who will use the phone for at least the next three years, so yeah durability and updates matter.
I can customize android to his needs so UI is not a factor that I am considering.

I knw whole story of O2X m not new in this dude. But my point is now lg dnt even suck in software dept. U should change ur views now. G2x is past.

Optimus is not that awesome, it will not make me buy a LG product. Maybe in the future if they release a great device *I* will buy it. It is not for me so can't take chances.

If he is a busy guy and don't want to spend time screwing around and customizing device then he should. It's just my personal opinion. If you are choosing android. Nothing can beat Nexus 4 (with case).

I think the customizing part will be a one time thing, don't you?
Why is Nexus 4 the best?
I used to think so too but not anymore. It is really cheap for its price in US but not here in India. There are better phones out there. And the same day update argument is invalid as the 4.2 update was broken as ****.

Why are you people so ignorant? What is so awesome about nexus 4 except for the fact that it is made by Google(and is really cheap in US) ?
S3, S3 is better than nexus 4. Except for the build quality and late updates.

Same price as N4 BUT 1080p Display and 13 MP Camera
