Microphone mute

Whenever i restart my computer the setting 4 microphone normally turns 2 mute .How 2 solve this.

are you using internal TV tuner card.

goto recording control settings from
Run -> sndvol32
check which devices have been selected
select only microphone
also check advanced settings

If this doesnt work try updating your sound card drivers

Hav u installed any new media player or rec. s/w?
My volume settings also get changed when I use Media Player Classic
