mute

I was wondering if there is anyway that the mute function can be simulated using any software or workaround so that it can be mapped to some hotkey(s).The lack of a dedicated mute key in my laptop's keyboard is very annoying.

Is there a way to mute the ring tone of an incoming call while I am deciding what to do with the call? In meetings, it is a real nuisance if the ringing blares away while I make my way out of the room to take the call. Sincerely wonder if folks at google dev could get the requirements...

Whenever i restart my computer the setting 4 microphone normally turns 2 mute .How 2 solve this. .

when im bored and i want to pass time i play flash games while listening to music. but i also need to listen to the game sounds and i hate it. how can i mute it when i dont have that option in the game or i cant right click and do the option mute ?

i installed win98SE on my friends PC a few days back ... after formatting his PIII , 1Gz , 256MB RAM PC ..... but the speakers have gone mute .... we are unable to get any sound frm the speakers which were working fine b4 the format ..... plz HELP
