It relates to Mozilla Firefox for Windows XP.

Before attempting to open my gmail account, the message below appears on the screen automatically. What is actually and how to stop appearing it?

You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party.

GMail uses https (http secure) protocol. But some parts of this page are not encrypted in this protocol. Firefox alerts you to this insecurity on the gmail page.

If you want to disable this message popping up.
GoTo Tools->Options
On the Securities tab there is a section for Warning Messages; check the option that is related to your message( In my firefox it is the last check box) and click Ok
