It decreased the boot-up time by a few seconds but increased the shut down time by more than 10 seconds.

First of all ""GREAT POST SAROMAN""

I agree with u too varun.....I have a amd athlon 2800+ 64 bit over a MSI k8tneo ,512 mb ram,128 mb graphic card, and a 120gb sata Hdd.

My system used to take 12 complete bars, now it shows the bar screen and boots........NOT EVEN 1 BAR.(AMAZING)

but the shutdown has slowed down................!!!!!!!!!!

GOT ANY TRICKS FOR A FAST SHUTDOWN !!! SAROMAN?????

add these two to registry
(1)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"LogonType"=dword:00000000

(2)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOptimizeFunction]
"Enable"="Y"

u'll se a very good improvment in startup/shutdown time
