Low fan speed for hp pavilion Dv4 laptop!!

I am using speedfan and found out that even on temperatures like 70 c fan is not working on full speed.

and also speedfan is not able to detect my fan.
please suggest some solution for it or any way to keep it cool.
Any suggestions will be good.


My configuration is:

hp Pavilion Dv4 1131tx
OS: win 7
CPU: Core2Duo T5800 2.00GHz
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 9200M GS

How old is the laptop? There is a pretty good chance the inside of it is completely dust filled which is making airflow difficult and as a result the high temps.

I believe your observations are based on the sound coming from the fan. Get it cleaned or clean it yourself. All you need is to blow some compressed air through the intake port (the simplest way).

Secondly, using a laptop cooler always helps.

Are you sure that the fan is not running at full speed? As you said, speedfan doesnt detect it..

speedfan never works correctly. double check using HWMonitor, Core Temp, etc.
